Hello My Name is Rachel and I suffer from a very rare debilitating pain disease Called Erythromelagia in which only 6000 people in the United States are inflicted with. I was born into a life of trauma , adopted at a year of age and ended up growing up in the system. Determined as a single mother at the time to provide for my children everything I did not have , life was finally looking Good until 2016 I started experiencing these horrific attacks , which feels like fire , glass shredding the skin , extreme swelling. Medically Erthromelagia , has Neral and Vascular abnormalities which causes the blood vessels to flare. I have seen over 100 plus doctors and specialist, including a trip to the Mayo Clinic. They all said there is NO cure or effective treatment .Only to take preventative measures to keep flares at bay, which seems impossible as it has only progressed over the last 6 years. I am unable to walk far at all at all anymore and use a scooter when I do get out.I also wear frozen gloves and booties .This disease has stolen precious time with my family, participating in ministry , sharing hope is my heart. It is isolating and flat out devastating, missing your life and being confined to home. This kind of pain is a HEAVY cloud that never goes away on the brightest of days.
In September of 2021, we were in a horrible car accident .breaking my back in 6 places .My hardware got infected and upon CAT scan , we found that the doctor placed a set screw all the way through my vertebrae puncturing the outer wall of aorta which means I had 2 emergency surgeries in 2 months. A miracle I am even alive.

Unfortunately the Spero Clinic is unable to accept insurance , so I have partnered with the Burning Limb Foundation, a nonprofit organization .The goal is to raise $40000 to go towards my medical treatment . It is very humbling asking for help , please help me get my life back as I begin my journey . With only 6000 people that have been diagnosed with Erythromelagia , I have made it my newfound goal in life because of my illness is to bring awareness and the Erythromelagia community together!
